Corberán: “We are going to take advantage of the opportunity against Sevilla FC and continue to grow”
The Valencia CF coach previews Matchday 19
Rodrigo Moreno reacted to Valencia CF's first home loss in LaLiga this season, pitchside at Mestalla after the 0-2 result against Athletic Club. The striker indicated that a change of objective was perhaps in order, and felt that a win would be a big morale booster.
"In the first half we were played well. We started well and had our chances. They scored from one of their first chances though. Even so, the team kept in the game and we knew that a goal would get us back in search of the win. The second goal, at the start of the second half, punished us a lot, and from then on the combination of tiredness and our dip in moral hindered us," said Rodrigo.
"A victory always changes your perspective on everything. I've said that getting into the Top 4 is practically impossible now -albeit not mathematically. However, we're still in time to get into the Europa League. We have to be objective and think about what we can really achieve. There are five games remaining, we'll rest up and face the next game in the best way possible."
The focus now is on Saturday's game against Granada, and taking the three points.
"I think that right now our thinking is to take a win, because of our morale and how it helps our fitness. A win always seems to make you less tired during a game, even when you've made the same effort. We need to face the next game with the will to win, to regain confidence and then face the final four games."
